New Project

Following my induction project of the large scale pencil drawings we were given free roam as to which project we wanted to move onto next.

I decided I wanted to move onto a project on landscapes. But to transition my induction  project into this one we had to create a piece that linked the two together. Here you see a series of four etchings that I did to link these two projects. I used Botticelli's Birth of Venus as inspiration for this piece. I merged a landscape with a phone in a shell to create my own work in the Birth of Venus Style. I believe that this is and appropriate bridge between the two projects.

Induction Project

At the beginning of our A-levels we had to do an induction piece, which was a pencil drawing of objects on a large scale. This is a drawing I did on double page in my A3 sketchpad. My topic was time and so I merged together various ways of telling the time.
Another part of the induction period was we had to research the artists: Escher, De Chirico, Magritte and Picasso. The three pages you can see here show the research I did for each artist. I did studies of them using pencil and paintshop on the computer.
